Coteau Properties Company- Freedom Mine, situated near Beulah, in the heart of rural North Dakota, Coteau Coal Mine stands as the largest lignite mine in the United States. Known affectionately as "Freedom Mine," this pioneering colliery a remarkable testament to American ingenuity and commitment to community development. But it's not just its scale that sets Freedom Mine apart; it's the mine's pioneering approach to fostering local talent and nurturing the next generation of skilled professionals.

Boasting a supportive team of 330 full-time employees alongside a management staff of 70, Coteau Coal Mine is on the lookout for new talent. Operating 24/7 year-round, the mine sees seasonal position openings, with operations slowing during the winter freeze and picking up as the ground thaws in summer.

A key initiative at Coteau is the  Sponsorship Program, tailored for students transitioning from high school to college. In partnership with NDSCS in Wahpeton, the program concentrates on technical roles such as diesel, electric, and welding technology. Successful candidates receive substantial financial support, covering half of their tuition, tools, and fees in the first year, with the potential for full coverage in the second year based on performance.
