The Multi-Cultural Committee was created as an ad hoc committee to work with the Vision West ND Board of Directors, consortium, and administration. The Cultural Inclusion Committee will work with subdivisions, businesses, and community organizations to help new immigrant, foreign-born, and Hispanic American worker and their families feel more comfortable and included in their new environment. This involves educating these individuals about the North Dakota culture in the communities to which they have moved and for native North Dakotans to learn about the culture and language of the non-native workers and their families.
Scope and Key Objectives
• Advise Vision West ND on current inclusion programs and projects
• Plan and oversee programs designed to enhance cultural inclusion
• Examine the reasons new workers and their families are moving to western North Dakota and ensure that Vision West ND remains responsive to those issues
• Provide guidance on developing projects, programs, education, and research instruments that will help evaluate the needs, interests, and opinions of the new population.
